Alwan CMYK Optimizer Flexo Labels Xeikon

Hine Labels match their colours 2

Hine Labels is a producer of very high quality selfadhesive and hot foil labels. The Rotherham company delivers a fast speed of service for trade only customers. Hine Labels, a 42 staff operation has significant firepower with a battery of five flexo presses alongside both Xeikon and Screen Trupress digital presses.
When Hine Labels was looking for better colour consistency between its Xeikon dry toner and Screen Trupress UV digital ink devices it turned to technical colour specialists Colour Engine for help.
Bill Hine, director at Hine Labels, explained: ‘When we started we had quite a few issues with colour. Consistency was lacking from device to device, process to process, month to month, year to year. We weren’t the only ones; other label printers were telling us that they also had issues with consistency of colour with pressesand with front with consistency of colour with presses and with front ends similar to the ones we had.'

DG3 and Enfocus

Enfocus Switch

DG3 and Enfocus

Print and communications specialist, DG3 has been using Enfocus software for many years, so when faced with the challenge of implementing client specific workflows without increasing costs, DG3 was happy to turn to UK Enfocus reseller, Colour Engine for help.

DG3’s Prepress Manager, Dax Britton, shares his thoughts and experience of integrating Enfocus Switch across the business:

“We were happy with PitStop Server and PitStop Pro but we had a hot-folder based workflow and needed more front-end capacity to take on new customers. When Colour Engine offered us a fully-supported 30-day trial of Enfocus Switch, we jumped at the chance!

"Colour Engine have some of the best tools available and a support service to match. Their input revolutionised the way we work."

“The beauty of this scenario is that the user only needs to input the file into TWIST and the automation does the rest. From input of file all prepress processes are performed right up to final delivery.
Integrating TWIST with Alwan Color Hub has sped up the overall workflow, offsetting intensive colour management tasks and letting TWIST do everything else it needs to do.”

“I have hardly needed to call on Colour Engine for support but when I have done they have been really helpful, are obviously very knowledgeable and sort out any issues fast.”

Paul Warrick Creative Service Manager : John Brown Media

In Paul Warrick's job, no news is good news. As creative services manager at John Brown Media company, a good day at the office for him is one where the colour profiles that he has built for, say, the latest John Lewis magazine, have been up to scratch, so no one gets back in touch after the press pass run.

An even better day is one where Warrick forgets what a fiendishly complex process building colour profiles for different substrates and processes actually is, as his Alwan CMYK Optimizer software is busily working away behind the scenes to get it done for him.
